INQUIRY

There are two outlets on the hydrocyclone shaft: the bottom is small (underflow or down) and the top is larger (overflow or acceptance). The underflow is usually a denser or thicker portion, while the overflow is a lighter or more fluid part. Centrifugal pumps are used to pump drilling fluid from a mud tank to a group of hydrocyclones. The RL solids control has flexible options for 1, 2 or 3 hydrocyclone desanders of different capacities, and the desilter has flexible options for 8 or 10, 12, 16 hydrocyclones of different capacities. Desander was installed after the mud shaker and degasser, but before the mud was removed. Desander removes abrasive solids from the drilling mud that cannot be removed through the mud shaker.
